General Introduction to Business Chinese Courses
“Ocean Mandarin” has two types of course, Tailor-made Business Chinese and Practical Business Chinese. Tailor-made Business Chinese courses aim to help foreigners working in Shanghai adjust to working here by aligning the course to typical workplace content, meaning the result will be more practical and effective. Practical Business Chinese courses aim to help students understand more about doing business in China in a step by step way. The courses follow three levels: Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced.

（1）Tailor-made Business Chinese Courses:This course aims to help foreigners who work in Shanghai to adjust to their current work situation as soon as possible. What you will learn in this course will closely relate to your work, so the result will be more practical and effective.
（2）Practical Business Chinese courses
Elementary Courses:
This course suits white-collar personnel working in Shanghai. The content comprises of company organization, equipment, arrangement of schedules, meetings, presentation of work plans, discussion of business development, advertisements, complaints and explanations, hiring and firing employees, training, company culture, and business letters. Upon the completion of the course, you should have command of about 500 words, the ability to deal with daily tasks in fluent Chinese and arrange business activities without too much difficulty. You will learn the following:
Business networking: how do you accept invitations, gifts or attend parties according to Chinese business culture? Your ability in social communication will improve.
In the office: how do you manage documents in a Chinese workplace? How do you communicate with your boss, arrange schedules or attend meetings in China? You will no longer feel hesitant when it comes to these areas.
Business: how should you introduce your company and products to clients? How should you discuss product marketing? How to offer quotations, suggest methods of payment and delivery? Your daily workplace problems shall be no more!
Your knowledge of Chinese culture, customs, social hierarchy, as well as business norms and culture will be simultaneously improved.
Intermediate Courses: This course is suitable for students who have finished the Elementary level course. Content comprises of typical business activities and business-related social events in the Chinese business world. A total of 1040 frequently-used new words and 154 sentence patterns will be introduced in this course. Students will be able to communicate with Chinese colleagues fluently and arrange business activities effectively.
Advanced Courses:This course is designed for students who have completed the Intermediate level course, and really want to get involved in research on investment and the Chinese economy, and even independently read financial newspapers. Topical subjects covering contemporary China and world economy will be discussed in this course. The Chinese economy is closely intertwined with the rest of the world, so how to do business with Chinese people or the government is an important issue. You will learn approximately 1380 new words and 186 sentence patterns in this course. Students will be able to give presentations fluently and express personal opinions clearly.
Long Term Business Chinese Tutoring (from RMB90/hour)

1. Definition of a Long Term Course: As for lessons, clients should take two or three a week to maintain a sense of consistency. Scheduling can be flexible.
2. Payment: The payment should be made in cash three days after the demo lesson and signing of the contract. We only accept one time payment.
3. No registration fee will be charged
4. Demo lessons can be arranged for clients who make a decision to take lessons at Ocean Mandarin. The demo lesson shall be two hours and charged at a rate of 100RMB. The payment should be made upon completion of the trial lesson.
5. Teaching Location: the campus of Ocean Mandarin, your office or your residence (downtown area).
6. Termination of Courses: Ocean Mandarin will keep the remaining pre-paid hours for three months from the day that the client terminates courses for personal reasons. The rest of tuition fee will not be refunded.
7. Work Hours of Ocean Mandarin: Our operational hours are from 8:00 to 21:00(Monday to Sunday). An additional fee of RMB 30/hour will be charged if you take lessons before 8:00 or after 21:00.
8. Each lesson will last a minimum of two hours. An additional charge of RMB30 will be charged for any lesson less than two hours.
9. A fee equivalent to one hour’s worth of tuition will be charged if clients did not inform Ocean Mandarin or their teacher four hours in advance for the cancellation of lessons.
Business Chinese Tutoring – Pay Monthly (from RMB110/hour)
