Q. Where is Ocean Mandarin located?
A. Ocean Mandarin is located in Xujiahui, downtown Shanghai. Getting to the school is convenient. You can take the subway (Line #1 or Line #4) and then take a 4 minute walk.
Q. What is your teaching methodology?
A. After several years’ teaching, we have concluded our own methodology:
We will make learning plan for each of you in detail, and guarantee your progress until you finish the course.

We put interactive teaching theory into practice effectively, so all of you will study in a natural way (eg. When there is a short break during two hours’ class, students are glad to talk with us in Chinese for relaxing. It can be regarded as a small Chinese corner).

We will stress LISTENING during our teaching because we believe no matter what language you learn, listening is the key.
Q. What is the difference between Ocean Mandarin and other Mandarin schools?

About Our Classes
Q. What are the main features of your classes?
A. Out of all our classes, the HSK preparation class is our STAR class. According to our long-time research on the HSK examination and five years' experience of preparing students for it, we understand the requirements of the exam inside and out and can therefore design our own course which will help you pass. Our HSK pass rate is 100%, which is evidence of our undeniable strength in this area.
Q. If I need to cancel a lesson for personal reasons (e.g. sickness or travel etc....), do I still have to pay? Will I be charged a cancellation fee?
A. You don’t need to pay. But you do have to tell us at least 4 hours in advance, otherwise you will be subject to a charge of 1 hour’s tuition fee.
Q. Is it possible to have a demo class first?
A. Yes, you can enjoy one free demo class before making any final decisions.
Q. Do I keep the same teacher for all my lessons?
A. Yes, you can if you like. We also offer the flexibility of other teachers too.
Q. If there are any problems with the teaching or learning materials, am I able to request a change in teacher or lesson plan?
A. Yes, of course. You are able to inform us of any new requirements or ideas at any time.
Q. Where do students usually have lessons? Can the teacher meet me at home or in a café?
A. You can decide where to have class. Our teachers are able to come to your home, office and anywhere else that is most convenient for you.

Q. If students take intensive classes, when will they pass HSK 6?
A. If you are a total beginner, it will take you 160 hours to pass HSK6 through taking intensive class.

A. We regularly survey our students to find out about their language learning environment and make adjustments where appropriate.We build excellent relationships with students so that they can easily give us feedback. This way, we constantly can improve our offering.
